Ethical code

As the first public corporation to have established Charter of Ethics in 1996, KEPCO has ever since advanced its ethical code in line with the internal/external environmental changes by introducing Code of Conduct for KEPCO Executives and Staff Members in 2003, ethical rules for high-ranking accounting supervisors in 2004, action guide for Executives and Staff Members in 2007 and action guidelines on international transactions in 2009. KEPCO also publishes Code of Conduct guidebook and Charter of Ethics poster to make ethical code an effective and an integral part of KEPCO. In 2011, KEPCO introduced ‘ABC Program’ to offer tailored education on anti-corruption to high-ranking executives, staff members and stakeholders and an opportunity for self check-up. It contributed to enhancing effectiveness of anti-corruption measures.

Training and education programs

KEPCO stresses the importance of ethical management in its ethical training program for executives and staff members to raise awareness on ethics and tolerate zero corruption at KEPCO. Furthermore, KEPCO goes beyond itself to engage stakeholders in ethical management as well. For example, it has signed anti-corruption agreement with contractors since 2007 and regularly holds ‘session on ethical management’ with related organizations including Korea Electrical Contractors Association.

Stakeholders’ rights to know

KEPCO is committed to satisfying stakeholders’ rights to know and establishing transparency in its business activities by disclosing business information via business disclosure, integrated disclosure, corporate disclosure, information disclosure system, among other variety of channels.

Corporate disclosure

KEPCO issues corporate disclosures to actively respond to the trend towards more corporate disclosure aimed at investor protection and fair share price, and to satisfy stakeholders’ rights to know, which has gained more prominence as minority shareholders’ rights to speak has become more critical.

Information disclosure system

KEPCO guarantees people’s rights to know and secures transparency in work process to earn higher level of trust from customers and takes the lead in enhancing people’s rights to know by actively disclosing information upon request. KEPCO identifies information for disclosure and data/materials that support investment decisions to ensure that its major information is swiftly shared with investors through timely disclosure.
